Purpose - to examine the safety and efficacy of the study drug, Sargramostim (Leukine) on memory in adults with Mild-to-Moderate Alzheimer's Disease

A medicine that is FDA-approved for bone marrow stimulation (called Leukine/sargramostim) will be tested for its ability to be tolerated by Alzheimer's disease patients and potentially to improve their memory.

The primary objective is to evaluate the long-term safety and tolerability of aducanumab after a wash-out period imposed by discontinuation of feeder studies in participants who had previously received aducanumab (i.e. previously treated participants) or who had previously received placebo (i.e. treatment-naïve participants).

Sleep has been shown to play an important role in brain health by creating patterns of activity that maintain normal functioning. This study seeks to study brain communication that occurs during sleep and how this relates to memory. This research also investigates the enhancement of normal brain activity. This study involves participants using sleep equipment in their home one night a week over the course of three weeks as well as completion of short memory tasks.

This is a Phase 2, multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, proof-of-principle study of neflamapimod versus matching placebo (randomized 1:1) administered with food for 16 weeks in subjects with DLB. The primary objective is to evaluate the effect of neflamapimod on cognitive function as assessed in a study-specific Cogstate Neuropsychological Test Battery (NTB). Secondary endpoints include the Clinical Dementia Rating Scale-Sum of Boxes (CDR-SB), Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Neuropsychiatric Inventory (NPI-10), Timed Up and Go Test, and electroencephalogram (EEG) as a potential biomarker for DLB.

The purpose of this research study is to learn more about the safety and effectiveness of a drug called sargramostim/GM-CSF for improving cognitive function and memory in people with Alzheimer’s disease. Sargramostim is an investigational drug, meaning it has not been approved by the FDA to treat Alzheimer’s. This research study hopes to find out more about how sargramostim works within the body over a longer time period than previously studied.
