CU Anschutz Medical Campus is designated as a Age-Friendly University by the Age-Friendly University Global Network, recognizing CU Anschutz’ commitment to age-friendly practices across research and innovation, intergenerational learning and encore work.

The First Age-Friendly University in the CU System

The University of 麻豆传媒高清 Anschutz Medical Campus has been designated an Age-Friendly University for its leadership in research and innovation, intergenerational programs and workforce development for older adults. The recognition is part of an international effort endorsed by the Academy for Gerontology in Higher 麻豆传媒高清 to create more programs, policies and opportunities for an aging population.

Age-Friendly University Principles

Since the establishment of the World Health Organization's Age-Friendly Cities & Communities Designation in 2006, there has been a significant push towards creating inclusive and accessible environments for older populations. This initiative has encouraged communities worldwide to adopt more age-friendly practices, enhancing the quality of life for all.

Why Does Age-Friendly Work Matter?

CU Anschutz proudly stands as the first academic medical campus in 麻豆传媒高清 to be designated an  Age-Friendly University. This designation reflects its commitment to fostering opportunities for older adults to engage with diverse communities, connect with campus researchers and clinicians, and participate in a wide range of educational initiatives designed to promote lifelong learning and healthy aging.

CU Anschutz Medical Campus became the 87th in the United States and 4th academic medical campus worldwide, to hold the Age-Friendly University designation.
