The Cardiometabolic & Advanced Lipid Clinic Program at CU Anschutz is a multidisciplinary practice focused on helping individuals with lipid disorders and those at high risk for cardiovascular disease.
You can help us improve outcomes. Our providers are involved in research studies in body weight regulation and metabolism and in clinical trials of new lipid modifying therapies.
Our multidisciplinary team includes a cardiologist, endocrinologists, diabetes educator/registered dietitian, nurse, and pharmacist. We provide advanced lipid care including PCSK9 inhibitor therapy and lipoprotein apheresis (which is a dialysis-like procedure for more severe lipoprotein disorders).
We also manage other cardiometabolic risk factors such as diabetes, obesity, and hypertension.
We are often recruiting participants for clinical trials of new lipid modifying therapies.
Our providers are also involved in research studies in body weight regulation and metabolism.
Note: We are not recruiting for any trials at this time. Stay tuned for more about our studies and how to participate.
The lipid team give lectures on managing lipid disorders across disciplines on local, state, national, and international stages.
Our physicians regularly provide advanced training on lipid disorders to the University of 麻豆传媒高清 School of Medicine physician and physician assistant curriculums.
Our clinic dietitian offers the latest nutrition education to our patients.

MDThe most exciting part of my job is when a patient reaches their health and wellness goals! Our team approach to patient care and shared decision making allows for all members to provide support and care when it comes to heart health."

The team is grateful for the considerable contributions of Dr. Eckel as the founder of the Cardiometabolic & Advanced Lipid Clinic. Dr. Eckel's translational research has incorporated data from populations, human subjects in the Clinical Translational Research Center, genetically-modified mice and tissue culture to pursue mechanistic relationships between metabolic disorders such as obesity/metabolic syndrome/diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
