Mohammad Bilal, MD, FACP, FACG joins the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology
The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is excited to welcome   Dr. Mohammad Bilal.

Dr. Bilal completed his general GI training at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, TX in 2019 and his advanced endoscopy training at The Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital with Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA in 2020. He joined the University of Minnesota / Minneapolis VA Medical Center GI Division after training and served as the Associate Program Director for the General GI fellowship until his transition to the University of 麻豆传媒高清.

Dr. Bilal serves as Director of Bariatric and Third Space Endoscopy as well as associate program director for the advanced endoscopy fellowship program. Dr. Bilal has over 210 peer-reviewed publications and more than 250 abstracts at national meetings. His clinical expertise includes ERCP, EUS, enteroscopy, EMR, EFTR, ESD, POEM and Bariatric Endoscopy. His impressive track record of clinical, teaching and scholarship awards, along with leadership roles in prestigious organizations such as American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, make him a valuable addition to the CU Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Sridevi Kusuma Pokala, MD joins the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology
Dr. Sridevi Kusuma PokalaWe are excited to welcome , to the Therapeutic Endoscopy section of the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the University of 麻豆传媒高清. She received her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Northwestern University and her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of California San Diego and her General Gastroenterology and Advanced Endoscopy fellowships at the University of 麻豆传媒高清. Her research and clinical interests include Barrett's Esophagus and medical education.

Nanxing Li, MD joins the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology Nanxing Li, MD
We are excited to welcome , to the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the University of 麻豆传媒高清. She received her undergraduate degree in Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology and Neuroscience from University of 麻豆传媒高清 at Boulder and her medical degree from University of South Florida. She completed her Internal Medicine residency and her General Gastroenterology fellowships at the University of 麻豆传媒高清 Anschutz Medical Campus.

Daysha Ferrer Torres, PhD joins the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology
The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is excited to welcome Dr. Daysha Ferrer Torres to the team as Assistant Professor. Dr. Ferrer Torres is also the CU Cancer Center’s Katy O. and Paul M. Rady Esophageal and Gastric Center of Excellence principal investigator. FerrerTorres, Daysha Headshot

At CU, Ferrer Torres’s lab will explore the progression of esophageal diseases to cancer. She plans to use patient-derived organoids – she describes it as “modeling the human esophagus for each patient by growing mini-organs in a dish” – to study the mechanisms of esophageal development and cancer formation.

, MD, executive director of the Rady Center of Excellence and a CU gastroenterology professor, says Ferrer Torres’ “groundbreaking work in cancer biology, particularly in understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms of esophageal cancer, aligns perfectly with our mission. Dr. Ferrer Torres’ extensive research, ranging from basic science to clinical applications, promises to bring invaluable insights and advancements to our team.”
