The Department of Orthopedics is committed to creating a welcoming environment that allows individuals from all backgrounds to thrive and serves our patients at the highest levels of compassionate and innovative healthcare. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and see value in everyone鈥檚 distinct life paths. You belong here. We believe diverse perspectives empower change, and by cultivating spaces where everyone feels valued and respected, we can continue the work we love鈥攁s a team of providers and staff continually striving to reflect the image of its diverse community.

Women in Ortho

With female orthopedic surgeons representing only 7.5% of the total in the US, being a female orthopedics resident remains a unique experience. Female residents in the program meet frequently with female faculty for mentorship and advice while also serving as mentors to the Women in Orthopedics Interest Group at the University of 麻豆传媒高清 Medical School. This group is open to anyone who supports the mission of advancing the careers of women in orthopedic medicine. We typically meet a few times per year to discuss rotations, applications, interviews, and opportunities over drinks at a local spot or hosted by one of our faculty.
