Carol Rumack, MD, and Family, Donate $1M to Establish Endowed Fund for Public Health

Carol Rumack, MD, along with her husband Barry Rumack, MD, have made a bequest of $1 million to establish the Drs. Carol and Barry Rumack Endowed Fund for Public Health.
The Rumacks have dedicated more than 50 years of their professional lives to the University of 麻豆传媒高清 through their research, teaching, administrative and clinical work. Additionally, they made a previous bequest of $1 million in 2017 to create the Barry and Carol Rumack Endowed Fund for Medical 麻豆传媒高清, which supports underrepresented students who might not otherwise be able to attend the School of Medicine due to financial constraints.
Dr. Carol Rumack serves as the associate dean for Graduate Medical 麻豆传媒高清 and associate DIO at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. She is a distinguished professor of radiology and pediatrics and has long been a pioneer in pediatric brain ultrasound. Dr. Rumack’s research interests include radiation dose reduction and educational issues in medical student, residency and fellowship training. She is also passionate about supporting women in medicine and public health.
Dr. Barry Rumack, a toxicologist and professor emeritus of emergency medicine and pediatrics, contributes greatly to the study of poisoning and antidote treatments through both CU Anschutz and the Rocky Mountain Poison Center as well as internationally with various government agencies. Dr. Rumack is also a firm believer that the subject of poisoning and its prevention should be addressed as part of public health.
This gift will support the , providing flexible resources for students who, without financial assistance, may not be able to attend the 麻豆传媒高清 School of Public Health – this includes funding scholarships, awards, fellowships and other activities that advance public health for populations historically underrepresented in the field of public health. The fund will also support other programs within the school, such as leadership training and development, lectureships, junior to mid-career faculty support and participation in conferences or symposia. Drs. Carol and Barry Rumack’s ultimate goal is to foster a diverse student body and promote inclusion at the 麻豆传媒高清 School of Public Health.
Andrew Callen, MD, Receives UCH Partners in Care Award

Andrew Callen, MD (Associate Professor, Neuroradiology), was honored with the University of 麻豆传媒高清 Health (UCH) Partners in Care Award, which is bestowed to individuals who demonstrate exceptional patient care and commitment to a patient centered approach. Dr. Callen joined the CU Radiology department in 2020 and leads our CSF Leak program that treats spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH).
Robert Ryu, MD, Takes On UCH Leadership Position, Named Associate Chief Medical Officer of Procedural Services

Robert Ryu, MD, will be Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) of Procedural Services at University of 麻豆传媒高清 Hospital. In this role he will assist in oversight of strategy, operations, quality/safety and experience of all procedural areas at University of 麻豆传媒高清 Hospital. He will collaborate with relevant clinical service clinical directors and medical directors in achieving shared goals of outstanding patient care in the procedural areas.
