Dear Complementologists and supporters of the Inaugural C3A conference,

After serious deliberations, we sadly need to inform you that we are cancelling the inaugural Collaborative Complement Congress of the Americas (C3A) 

originally planned for July 17-18, 2025, at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå, Anschutz Campus, Aurora, Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå, USA.

As you are aware, the current US Government is re-evaluating procedures underlying the allocation of both intramural and extramural scientific funding support. This phase of transition led to a hold on a large number of grant applications and funding processing which is affecting Governmental institutions such as the NIH, FDA etc. and Universities and Institutes broadly. 

As a consequence, the majority of laboratory heads in the Governmental, Universities, and private sectors were either unable or cautious to commit funds required for attendance of scientific conferences and meetings in the last weeks and the weeks to come. Several scientific conferences (including, for example, high profile Gordon Research Conferences, etc.) were therefore cancelled. 

Our C3A meeting unfortunately also falls into this rather precarious time window. After discussion among members of the LOC and the company representing the venue organizers, we felt that these are less than ideal circumstances to initiate our inaugural meeting. The meeting’s mission is to nucleate the productive and long-term interaction and collaborative work of pan-American Complementologists working in basic, clinical, and Industry settings. For this to be successful, everybody who would like to join, should be able to join. This is currently not the case.

Please note that this current cancellation is effectively a postponement of the meeting: we are committed to and excited about this event - and operate under the mindset of the Great Poet “All is Well that Ends Well”.

Thus, as soon as the scientific funding situation stabilizes and allows the community to better plan again, we will set a date for the Inaugural C3A meeting - which we anticipate to be in 2026.
