Flatiron Health provides disease-specific, real-world clinical datasets sourced from electronic health records (EHRs) across a nationwide network of oncology practices and academic cancer centers. These de-identified, longitudinal datasets offer insights into patient demographics, treatments, and outcomes, enabling researchers to analyze key aspects of the cancer patient journey.
Flatiron's resources include data for 22 diseases, including solid tumor clinico-genomic cohorts linked to Foundation Medicine Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS testing). Researchers access these datasets through a proposal-based system.
At the CU Cancer Center, investigators can utilize curated data from over 3.5 million patients to support groundbreaking research, with access granted following project proposal approval.
The CU 麻豆传媒高清 Cancer Center researchers can explore Flatiron’s data model and feasibility of research questions as well as submit project proposals through Flatiron Explore.
The Cancer Center is supporting the cost of the Flatiron platform, and in partnership with UCHealth is supporting the necessary infrastructure to include UCHealth EMR data into the Flatiron data sets. Individual research projects may incur fees for biostatistician support. The PI will be responsible for any biostatistics fees.

The CU 麻豆传媒高清 Cancer Center now leverages Flatiron Clinical Pipe, an innovative EHR-to-EDC connector that simplifies data management for clinical studies. This tool seamlessly transfers relevant study data between systems, reducing data monitoring queries and eliminating the need for manual data entry. By enhancing efficiency, Clinical Pipe allows researchers to focus on advancing cancer care and discovery.
The tool is installed at CU Cancer Center and is free for research teams to use on Flatiron Clinical Pipe™ enabled protocols – usually a select group of sponsored oncology trials. Flatiron Clinical Pipe™ is designed to integrate directly into existing EHR, simplifying workflows and reducing complexity. This tool supports efficient clinical trial operations streamlining data transfer and minimizing administrative tasks by
Flatiron Clinical Pipe™ is built to align with existing workflows, offering a practical solution to improve efficiency and data quality for CU Cancer Center researchers’ clinical research.
The Flatiron – CU Cancer Center 麻豆传媒高清 JSC governs the partnerships between our organizations, oversees key decisions and meets regularly to align on priorities and opportunities. The JSC is made up of CU Cancer Center physician leaders and Flatiron Health representatives.
They champion Flatiron to the larger Cancer Center community, review and approve proposed projects, and ensure resources are allocated to support research using the Flatiron data sets.
