AY 2025-2026

I'm planning to do my fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care. Within this field, I have enjoyed caring for patients with asthma, and in doing so have realized the ways environmental and social factors influence asthma outcomes. I am interested in doing research that helps to identify and reduce variables that contribute to differences in outcomes, both for outpatients with diseases like asthma and for inpatients receiving critical care.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outside, whether that be hiking in the summer or skiing in the winter. When I'm not in the mountains, you can find me at my neighborhood gym, playing piano or watching a good dramedy TV show. I like to travel when I can and am always looking for recommendations!

My academic interests lie at the intersection of medical education, resident well-being, and health systems improvement. I’m especially drawn to the challenge of easing the transition from medical school to residency and am conducting research on how structured bootcamps and digital learning tools can reduce burnout and improve confidence among new interns. I’m particularly interested in how clinical training environments can be designed to support both skill development and emotional resilience—and, more importantly, help reduce suicide rates among physicians. Recently, I’ve also become increasingly interested in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) as I seek to grow in my role as a hospitalist

Outside of medicine, I’m originally from Venezuela and recently moved from New York City to 麻豆传媒高清 with my wife and newborn son. I love sharing meals with family and friends, going boogie boarding when I can (which was possible living near the beach in NYC but not quite the same here in 麻豆传媒高清), and spending time in Christian community. My faith is central to my life, and I enjoy leading Bible studies and supporting others spiritually. I’m hoping to enjoy more skiing and embrace the outdoors in new ways.

I grew up in Columbia, MD, just a few houses down from fellow Clinical Scholar Tom Mee. Since then, I have lived all over the country and most recently completed my Internal Medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where I was part of the Global Health and Underserved Populations Track.

I plan to pursue a hematology/oncology fellowship, and my academic interests focus on improving quality of life for people living with cancer. I am interested in how tools like AI and mobile apps can support patients, and how concept mapping can amplify the voices of those undergoing cancer treatment. I want to continue working with underserved and marginalized communities to promote equitable access to care and help improve both quality of life and health outcomes.  I am interested in the impact of climate change on health and how medical professionals can bring about change both within and outside of the medical system.

Outside of medicine, I try to spend as much time outdoors as possible. Since moving to Denver, I have been consistently awed by the hiking and camping. When the weather keeps me indoors, I love movies, plant parenting, ping pong, meditation, and listening to history and philosophy lectures.

I grew up in Buffalo, NY, but recently completed my residency at the University of 麻豆传媒高清, where I was in the Medical Leaders Pathway. My academic interests lie at the intersection of evidence-based medicine, systems improvement, health equality and clinical research. I am pursuing a pulmonary and critical care fellowship and have a particular interest in pulmonary hypertension and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS). As a POCUS scholar this year, I am looking forward to sharpening my teaching skills.

Outside of medicine, I have embraced 麻豆传媒高清’s beautiful hiking trails and ski slopes. My husband is a jazz pianist and I have enjoyed exploring 麻豆传媒高清’s various music venues. I love spending time with my dog (Louis [Armstrong]) and cat (Frank [Sinatra]), reading, attending barre classes, and crafting.
