An Academic-Hospital Partnership
The Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå Children's Hospital COVID-19 Scientific Advisory Council (SAC) was developed in response to our health-system driven demand for evidence. We engaged a diverse team of scientific experts and hospital leaders in a well-coordinated and timely pandemic response that met operational and academic goals with an infrastructure that is customizable. We have developed a process for prioritizing clinical needs, developed a rapid evidence assessment method and an infrastructure (team, processes) for rapid approval, implementation, and dissemination within an incident command system. This approach is generalizable to other academically-affiliated healthcare systems in the context of a novel health threat.
Marion Sills co-chairs the SAC. She is a Professor of Pediatrics in the Section of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Suchitra Rao co-chairs the SAC and is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Sections of Infectious Disease and Hospital Medicine.
