Reproductive Psychiatry Fellowship

 

This non-ACGME 1-year clinical fellowship in reproductive psychiatry is centered in the Women's Behavioral Health and Wellness service line at the University of Âé¶¹´«Ã½¸ßÇå Anschutz Medical Campus. The fellowship will provide trainees with robust clinical training, didactic learning opportunities, and mentorship to develop advanced clinical skills in the assessment and management of reproductive mental health disorders. Fellows will also develop skills in teaching, critical appraisal of research, and scholarly project implementation. By the conclusion of the fellowship, fellows will be well-prepared for a career in reproductive psychiatry.  
  • Receive supervision and mentorship from nationally renowned reproductive psychiatry faculty at the University of Âé¶¹´«Ã½¸ßÇå

  • Provide care for a diverse range of complex reproductive psychiatry cases across integrated and specialty clinics

  • Learn evidence-based approaches to prescribing hormonal treatments for mood and anxiety disorders related to the reproductive lifecycle

  • Participate in innovative care models, including a proactive consultation-liaison program embedded on obstetric wards

  • Engage in mentored scholarly projects, with support for research, quality improvement, curriculum development, or academic writing in reproductive psychiatry

  • Contribute to national initiatives in reproductive psychiatry, including curriculum development, advocacy, and trainee education

  • Enjoy protected time for twice-weekly reproductive psychiatry didactics focused on advanced clinical knowledge and interdisciplinary learning

  • Live and train in vibrant, scenic Denver, Âé¶¹´«Ã½¸ßÇå, with easy access to both urban amenities and the outdoors

Women's Behavioral Health and Wellness Outpatient Practice (WBHW)

Subspecialty reproductive psychiatry clinic providing care to individuals with reproductive mental health concerns (perinatal, perimenopause, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, pelvic pain, sexual health, reproductive trauma, and breast/gynecologic malignancies).

 

PROMISE (Perinatal Resource Offering Mood Integrated Services and Evaluation)Co-located perinatal mental health clinic embedded within the OB clinics on the Anschutz Medical Campus.  
  Perinatal PathwaysA proactive, consultation-liaison service embedded within the obstetric wards 
Healthy Expectations PIPER (Parent Infant Program for Emotional Resilience)perinatal IOP designed for pregnant and postpartum individuals facing mental health concerns requiring more support than routine outpatient care 

 

  • To develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude needed to effectively assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders related to reproductive health across the life span (e.g. pregnancy, postpartum, menopause) 
  • To summarize and critically appraise research in reproductive psychiatry
  • To enhance skills in working collaboratively across a variety of practice settings with other healthcare professionals who care for patients with reproductive mental health concerns  
  • To effectively educate diverse audiences about topics in reproductive psychiatry
  • To integrate principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion into clinical practice, ensuring culturally responsive care for patients with reproductive mental health concerns 
  • To engage in the development, implementation, and dissemination of a research project or scholarly activity focused on reproductive psychiatry
