The Transforming Healthcare Lecture Series is a community lecture series presented by Chancellor Donald M. Elliman that showcases the incredible medical advancements and scientific progress taking place at the Anschutz Medical Campus.
The fall 2022 lecture featured presentations by Department of Psychiatry faculty members Neill Epperson, MD, Andrew Novick, MD, PhD, Rachel Davis, MD, Moksha Patel, MD, and Joe Sakai, MD which highlighted discoveries that are transforming the mental health treatment landscape—from artificial intelligence technologies and digital apps, to new drugs and implantable brain devices.

Benjamin Mullin, PhD supports recent screening recommendations from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force in an article for . “There’s a lot of wisdom doing more screening for anxiety and depression,” he says. “We know that untreated anxiety has all kinds of negative long-term effects across every part of someone’s life, andwe have treatments that work really well.”
The Conversation Weekly features Dr. Rachel A. Davis in its recent episode. This episode discusses how a new wave of treatments that stimulates the brain with electricity are showing promise on patients and in clinical trials for Mental illnesses like obsessive compulsive disorder, depression andaddiction.
