The Addiction Medicine Fellowship complies with the ACGME eligibility and selection requirement.

Applications will be accepted from programs for which the Sponsoring Institution also sponsors an ACGME-accredited program in at least one of the following specialties: anesthesiology, emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, preventive medicine, or psychiatry.

Residents in our program must be either a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or possess the appropriate documentation to allow the resident to legally train at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå School of Medicine. 

Specific USMLE or COMLEX scores are not required, but applicants who have passed all exams on their first attempt will be given preference. 

We prefer one of the three letters of recommendation be from a U.S. physician who has worked with you long enough to attest to your clinical skills. 

We give preference to International Medical Graduates who are ECFMG certified at the time of application to our program. 

We strongly encourage applicants to have at least one year of hands-on clinical experience in the U.S. We define clinical experience as being paid to provide patient care as a physician or participating in a program where the applicant is providing direct patient care under supervision and performance is formally evaluated. 

Applicants should not have a gap in providing patient care as a physician of more than two years since completing their medical education.
