Curriculum

We believe that training residents to be leaders of medical communities requires a bold reimagining of both the structure and content of traditional residency curriculum. Our curriculum reflects this belief, preparing our residents for 21st century practice and to be leaders in health care and in their communities.

With two distinct tracks to choose from, we are specially equipped to meet the individual and unique interests of our residents while offering the strength and support of a single, unified residency program.

Residents in both the University (UH) and Denver Health (DH) tracks have 22 months of rotations in common and participate in didactics and other curricula together. The major differences between the two tracks are where residents have their continuity clinic practice. DH track residents also may complete more rotations at Denver Health and UH track residents at University Hospital, but residents rotate at our three training hospitals throughout their training (see below for more information).

We have revised our curriculum to meet the new ACGME Program Requirements for Graduate Medical Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå. The information below describes the curriculum that will apply for the Class of 2027. Please note that it is possible there will be additional changes.

Medical students can also learn with our residents and faculty during a Sub-Internship or our Outpatient course.
